I have a particular affinity toward moleskins, Nietzsche, and fountain pens. I also enjoy cappuccinos, The Economist, dancing, B&W photography, Kafka, electronic music, philosophy, kickbox, Paulo Coelho, black (color), and politics. And of course, blogging. That's where BohemianTranscendence comes in: this blog is not only the recount of personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts, but also an exploration of the passion hidden behind our desire for life.

Ludovico Einaudi in San Francisco, last night

When I go out with friends, we tend to visit places with a very specific music genre. But, when I am at home, I listen to many different types, ranging from jazz to house music to reggaeton to classical.
It was this way that by pure chance, listening to one of my Pandora radio stations, I first heard Ludovico Einaudi. The piece that played made such a strong impact on me that I couldn’t help myself, but… [Read more.]

Happy Baba Marta!

I realize that, for most of you reading this, it must already be March 2nd. And yet, for me, there’s a bit over an hour before this March 1st becomes yet another past day. Just enough to say – in case you missed it on my twitter: “Happy Baba Marta!”

Having said that, I also realize that most of you reading this will have no idea what I’m talking about. (Unless, perhaps, if you have read my post… [Read more.]

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your 2011 is filled with joy, love, and success. On my side, it definitely started with lots of joy.

Meet Eva.

Eva

On January 1st, barely a day after we came back from our exhausting (but also absolutely fabulous) trip to France, I decided it was time to finally take some slightly more serious action and find that kitten I’ve… [Read more.]

NaNoWriMo 2010

Alrighty. So I was a bit late publishing the following, which is why the timing will sound a bit off. Consider this as posted on Dec 1st.

Within typing the first few words of this post last night, I had to stop, asking myself:

“Seriously? How can you still write?”

I guess that just like appetite comes with food, so does the inspiration to write comes with writing. After writing over 14000 words in one day (that’s over 23… [Read more.]

Coconut Lime White Choc Cream Cheese Muffin
White chocolate coconut-lime muffin with cream cheese, anyone?

Remember the personal project I spent a couple days designing? Well it was the WordPress theme for my new blog which I launched this Wednesday. I wanted to share some of what I cook, but didn’t want to mix up too many topics on… [Read more.]

Happy Halloween!

Good morning everyone! And Happy Halloween!

I guess I had to wake up at 5 a.m. on a Halloween morning to break the two weeks of silence. Perhaps I should stop writing drafts and start pushing that “Publish” button more often. Still, there are several reasons I didn’t update the blog any earlier.

To begin with, believe it or not, I actually have a strict quality control over the content I decide to post online. And, certain weeks, I’m more… [Read more.]

Aloha! (Part 2)

As you must have realized from my last post, I’m back from a week in Maui. This was one amazing week. (Big thanks go to my hubby who organized everything despite being the birthday person.)
Apart from some serious time spent in the spa, my husband and I stayed quite active. Of course, we did a lot of swimming and walking around, but we also snorkeled, played golf, and… took our first surf lesson!

It turns out… [Read more.]

I wrote this post last Thursday… due to reasons you’ll most probably guess, I was too “distracted” to post it any sooner. Expect a Part 2 with updates on the vacation which, unfortunately, ended yesterday night.

-.-.-

By the time you will be reading this, my husband and I will have arrived for a week of well-deserved vacation in Maui. Yes! I had mentioned this get-away before, and here it is finally! I’m expecting the… [Read more.]

Busy weekends & San Francisco Street Food Festival

Posted by on August 23, 2010 at 5:29 pm under catogories [EventsPersonal] and tags. 2 Comments.

The Saturday busyness I’ve mentioned in my previous post continues.  This weekend , the “culprit” was the San Francisco Street Food Festival.

I found out about the existence of this event completely randomly after reading, just as randomly, several posts on Jun Belen’s blog, including one about his experience at the 2009 edition of the festival. I then immediately searched for the date on which the festival would take… [Read more.]

Noces de coton

For the past six weeks, every single weekend has been one filled with some sort of activity. There has been the half-marathon, the birthday party, the other social events… And even our first San Francisco picnic in Dolores Park, where we met with friends on the first Saturday of this month. What was peculiar about this picnic is that, apart from the regular fun around good food and good friends, some of us (no need to cite names here) used… [Read more.]
