I have a particular affinity toward moleskins, Nietzsche, and fountain pens. I also enjoy cappuccinos, The Economist, dancing, B&W photography, Kafka, electronic music, philosophy, kickbox, Paulo Coelho, black (color), and politics. And of course, blogging. That's where BohemianTranscendence comes in: this blog is not only the recount of personal experiences, emotions, and thoughts, but also an exploration of the passion hidden behind our desire for life.

Aloha! (Part 1)

I wrote this post last Thursday… due to reasons you’ll most probably guess, I was too “distracted” to post it any sooner. Expect a Part 2 with updates on the vacation which, unfortunately, ended yesterday night.

-.-.-

By the time you will be reading this, my husband and I will have arrived for a week of well-deserved vacation in Maui. Yes! I had mentioned this get-away before, and here it is finally! I’m expecting the next few days to be full of activities – both fun and relaxing.

But before I go on anything else regarding this vacation, let me first update you with some news from the past two weeks.

  • Last week, I started my Beginner’s Arabic Level 2. I am excited because we are getting into some serious learning and while I feel I’ve already achieved a lot by being able to decipher the Arabic alphabet and write in it, I’ve got to admit the hard stuff is just about to start. My biggest concern right now is learning to differentiate between the “light” and “dark” (or emphatic) versions of some consonants.
  • I also resumed the tennis lessons I had started to take with my hubby last summer. I had to temporarily stop them due to my absence during the year, but now that I am in San Fran for good, it’s time to play catch up. And since Pierre’s level was already advanced when we started, I’ll have quite the work to do.
  • My training has been going well. Or, at least, until the beginning of next week – then I must have over trained because I felt terrible for several days. On last Wednesday and Thursday my body even declared a strike by making me officially sick. That forced me to rest for the weekend (with the exception of the Saturday tennis). I resumed running on Monday, but I still feel a lack of energy… which I hope to regain in Maui.

And so, speaking again of Maui, I am getting really impatient to get out of the plane… Just another hour or so left.
